VORTEX POWER SYSTEMS is a New Zealand company developing a technology to convert waste heat at existing thermal power-stations into electricity. Most power plants are 30-40% efficient, with newer plants approaching 50% efficiency. The residual energy is rejected as waste-heat, which must be disposed of, and is generally associated with a cost of disposal. Vortex believes it has developed a technology which can convert such waste heat into electricity with a 5% efficiency. Vortex is currently raising capital to further the development of its technology. Any interested parties should contactlachlan@pacificchannel.com.
